Description of the Validation and Verification Process:
Greenhouse gas validation and verification works are carried out to provide:
-
Assurances to intended users that Greenhouse Gas Statements submitted by organisations are complete, accurate, consistent, transparent and free from significant inaccuracies;
-
Confirmation of compliance with applicable verification or validation criteria, including principles and requirements of relevant greenhouse gas standards or programs within the established field. Direct work on validation and verification of greenhouse gases shall be carried out by experts on validation and verification of greenhouse gases, who have competences that meet the established criteria for accreditation of the body on validation and verification of greenhouse gases, as well as meet the requirements of regulatory documents.

Explanation of the Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Process:​
The validation and verification process begins with the receipt by the validation and verification body of a fully completed and signed by the Applicant application for validation or verification works in the prescribed form and determination of the possibility to carry out the works. Information on the decision shall be communicated to the Applicant.

If the decision is favorable, the verification or validation work will include the following steps:

Preparatory actions:

Defining and agreeing with the Customer the type of task, objectives, boundaries and scope of application, criteria (confidence level, materiality threshold, etc.) of the greenhouse gas validation or verification procedure

Determining the time required to perform verification or validation;
-
Calculating the cost of validation or verification;
-
Conclusion of a contract for validation or verification work;
-
Formation and agreement with the Applicant of a team of experts for validation or verification of greenhouse gases;

Preparing and planning for validation or verification:
-
Conducting strategic analyses,
-
Carrying out risk analyses,
-
Determine site visit needs and schedule, develop and approve a greenhouse gas validation or verification plan and evidence collection plan;
-

Carrying out validation or verification:
-
Performing greenhouse gas validation and verification according to an agreed greenhouse gas validation or verification plan;
-
Conducting evidence collection according to the evidence collection plan;
-
Conducting an audit of source data and information, conducting an assessment of compliance with greenhouse gas validation and verification criteria, conducting an analysis and evaluation of the Greenhouse Gas Statement, conducting an audit of the greenhouse gas information system, conducting an assessment of changes made to the Greenhouse Gas Statement (if any);

Preparation of a report and Conclusion on validation or verification of greenhouse gases;

Independent peer review;
-
Execution and issuance of the Report and Conclusion to the Applicant.

Recording the results of validation and verification of greenhouse gases at each of the above stages in accordance with the established requirements.

The result of Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification work is the issuance to the Customer of one of the following two outcomes:

Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification opinions as an assurance to the intended user that the Greenhouse Gas Statement is free of material errors, omissions and misrepresentations with a reasonable (acceptable) or limited level of confidence (level of assurance);

Negative Conclusion (reasoned refusal to issue) on the results of validation and verification of greenhouse gases due to the fact that the Greenhouse Gas Statement was not made in exact compliance with the requirements of the greenhouse gas standard or program or due to the fact that the expert was unable to obtain sufficient acceptable objective evidence to form his opinion on whether the Greenhouse Gas Statement was made in exact compliance with the requirements of the greenhouse gas standard or program.

Fee Calculation
Calculation of the cost of GHG validation and verification works is carried out taking into account the labor intensity of works and depends on:

The required level of assurance/confidence of the GHG statement;

Customer needs in terms of GHG validation and verification activities depending on GHG standards or programmes;
-
Purposes of GHG validation and verification works (assessment of compliance with the criteria of declared standards, GHG programmes, customer's own programs);
-
GHG validation and verification criteria (specific requirements of standards, GHG programmes, customer's/responsible party's own requirements;
-
Organizational and operational boundaries of the GHG inventory/cadastre;
-
Timelines for service delivery;
-
The need to visit the production site.
The cost of carrying out the work is calculated according to the formula.

Rights and Obligations of the Applicant
The Applicant is obliged to:

Familiarize himself with the description of the validation and verification process before submission of the application, containing the application form, description of the processes of interaction with the body, conditions for issuing opinions;

Provide sufficient and reliable information to enable the authority to assess the feasibility of conducting greenhouse gas validation and verification activities.
The applicant has the following rights:
-
An applicant who has received a validation and/or verification report may advertise its availability;
-
The applicant may publish materials related to the procedure for conducting validation and verification work, subject to the written consent of the greenhouse gas validation and verification body;
-
The applicant at any stage of organisation and performance of validation and verification works may apply to the validation and verification body for explanations on the procedure of works performance;
-
The applicant has the right to file a complaint and/or appeal in accordance with the document Complaints and Appeals (VVBP_3_V1_2024) which can be found below.
Appeals and Complaints
The procedure for receipt, registration and rules for consideration of appeals and claims (complaints) against decisions made by the Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification Body "PRISM Carbon Solutions" are generally set out in the Complaints and Appeals (VVBP_3_V1_2024) document.
